Drumpf

What’s in a name? In the week when Donald Drumpf was unveiled, I’ve been reading the autobiography of Jay Williams, former basketball star, current ESPN commentator and friend of Bing. He discovered that his management had changed his name from Jason to Jay when he opened the paper one morning.

Similarly, John Mellencamp discovered that he’d been re-christened Johnny Cougar when his record company showed him the cover of his first album.

Not very similarly, I discovered last Sunday at my son Harry’s final soccer game of the season, that his friend John’s father, and not mother, was Jackie Brown, the team manager.
